Hi, I’m Umar

I’m a registered dietitian who helps busy adults with diabetes and pre-diabetes take control of their blood sugar and feel better in their everyday lives.

Most of the people I work with are juggling a lot: careers, families, responsibilities, and managing blood sugar often feels like just one more thing on an already full plate. My goal is to make nutrition feel clearer, calmer, and more manageable, not overwhelming or restrictive.

I believe that improving blood sugar isn’t about perfection or following a rigid plan. It’s about building realistic habits that fit into real life and actually last.

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me spending time outdoors around Austin, with family and friends, or getting lost in a good book, movie, or TV show.

About Better Day

  • I’m passionate about working with people who want to take care of their health but don’t want their lives to revolve around dieting or food rules.

So many of my clients come to me feeling frustrated, discouraged, or unsure of what to trust anymore. They’ve tried different approaches, received conflicting advice, or felt like they were “failing” at something that was never designed to fit their lives in the first place.

I want my clients to feel supported, informed, and confident, not judged or pressured.

  • Nutrition should fit real life.

Not Perfection, Not Restriction, Not Overwhelm

As someone who understands how hard it can be to balance health with a busy life, my goal is to make this process feel supportive, manageable, and empowering.

  • When we work together, you can expect:

    • A supportive, judgment-free space

    • Clear explanations (no medical jargon overload)

    • Practical strategies you can actually use

    • Accountability without pressure

    • A focus on progress, not perfection

I meet you where you are and help you build from there. We take things step by step, adjust as needed, and focus on changes that feel sustainable because your health should support your life, not compete with it.

  • Registered Dietitian

I completed over 1,000 hours of supervised dietetic practice with a strong emphasis on clinical nutrition, and I’m licensed to provide nutrition counseling in Texas.

My training and experience allow me to support clients with diabetes, pre-diabetes, cholesterol concerns, weight goals, and other cardiometabolic health needs always within a compassionate, evidence-based framework.

  • If you’re looking for nutrition support that feels realistic, personalized, and human, I’d love to connect.

You don’t have to have everything figured out, that’s what I’m here for.
